Seven participants studied the principles of the Mariupol City Council departments for more than two weeks, got acquainted with the activities of the "YaMariupol" centers in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Odessa. Everyone was able to gain new knowledge, skills and experience that will allow young people to work on community development and revive Ukraine🇺🇦

Among the internship participants are future political scientists, lawyers, psychologists and a former military serviceman. These are not only Mariupol residents, but also residents of other communities who wanted to learn how the Mariupol community works in evacuation and join in supporting it.

"The internship became a way for me to discover something new, because I want to connect my life with the public sector, to help people. I really liked that the center's employees are Mariupol residents. And they work specifically for Mariupol residents. I learned a lot for myself. For example, the veterans assistance program. The task was very interesting - to develop a project to help IDPs and protect it myself," shared Zlata Donchuk, an internship participant in Lviv, a student of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

The youth internship program in local government bodies is implemented by the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Higher School of Public Administration in cooperation with the NGO "Association of Public Advisors of Ukraine" with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and funding from the Government of Denmark.
