Young Person of the Year – 2025" - Eduard Revin

Published 09 August 2025 year, 11:01

Contestant of the regional competition "Young Person of the Year – 2025" in the "On Guard for Life" category Eduard Revin

My name is Eduard Revin. I was born in the picturesque city of Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region. Since 1994, my family and I lived in the village of Urozhaine, Volnovakha district, Velykonovosilka community. Our village has always been and remains for me the dearest corner on earth—a place of strength, childhood dreams, and warm memories.

My family consisted of my mother, younger brother, grandmother, and grandfather. Since I grew up without a father, I learned from childhood to be responsible, to support and protect the people I held dearest. My mother worked as a senior nurse at the district hospital—she came home tired every day but with warmth in her eyes. I helped with the household and looked after my younger brother, feeling like a reliable support for the whole family.

I attended Staromaiorska comprehensive school. Although I didn't have a particular passion for studying, it was the teachers at this school who instilled in me a love for my native land, for the Ukrainian soil, for our homeland.

In 2010, I enrolled at Makiivka Medical School, specializing in "Medical Care," where I obtained the professional qualification of a paramedic. The years of study flew by quickly, leaving behind not only knowledge but also valuable experience. After graduation, I worked in a hospital, where I gained essential professional skills that later helped me a lot in life, work, and service.

With considerable work experience already, I decided to move to Kharkiv and got a job in my profession at a private medical laboratory.

At the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression, my family found themselves under occupation, remaining in our native village of Urozhaine. Having seen with my own eyes all the horror and grief that the occupiers brought with them, we were forced to leave our home. Now, our village is completely destroyed and uninhabitable.

In January 2023, I joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since then, I have been fulfilling my civic duty as a combat medic—every day, I save the lives of military personnel and civilians, staying true to my oath and my love for Ukraine.

The work of a combat medic is a great responsibility, a daily challenge, and an inner choice to remain a human being even on the front line. The ability to make quick decisions, to be resilient and calm—all of this has become an integral part of my life.

I do not regret my choice and am infinitely grateful to my family for their love, support, and faith in me, even in the most difficult moments.
