Participant of the regional contest "Young Person of the Year – 2025" in the nomination "A Heart Given to Donetsk Region" Kateryna Kvitka
Kateryna Kvitka, a young woman from the frontline town of Siversk, is a testament to resilience and dedication. When the war forced her to leave her home, she did not let the hardships define her. Instead, they strengthened her resolve to continue her calling: to educate the youth and foster a vibrant learning environment in the Donetsk region.
Kateryna’s impact is already profound. She made a significant contribution to the online career guidance festival, "Your Choice — Ukraine's Future," organized by the Donetsk Palace of Youth "Yunost." Her work helped hundreds of students understand their career options and make informed decisions about their future professions.
She is also committed to her own professional growth. Kateryna successfully completed the "English and New Competencies for Ukrainian Reformed School Education" course. This program, developed by the British Council in partnership with Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science, provides essential support for educators adapting to the New Ukrainian School reforms.
Her passion for education extends beyond the classroom. As a coordinator for the "GoGlobal Speaking Clubs 2024/2025" project, she led a children’s conversational club with foreign volunteers. This initiative gave children a valuable opportunity to practice English, broaden their horizons, and learn about different cultures.
For Kateryna, teaching is more than a profession—it's a mission. She believes every child is talented and can find their place in the world. Her ability to offer unwavering support, listen without judgment, and provide emotional strength is priceless. She teaches children to face challenges as opportunities for growth. This dedication bore fruit when she shared the joy of her son's victory at the International Olympiad on Information Technologies Infomatrix 2025 in Bucharest, where he won a gold medal.
Kateryna is more than a teacher; she is a symbol of hope, change, and renewal for her native region. Her work is a daily step towards victory and a vital contribution to shaping the future of a new Ukraine.
