Participant in the regional competition “Young Person of the Year – 2026” in the “Pulse of Life” category: Alina Kulik
Alina Kulik’s journey in medicine began with a sincere desire to save lives and change the world for the better. After graduating with honors from Bakhmut Medical College in 2019, she began her professional training in the most critical setting for diagnostics—the emergency medical care department of the Bakhmut Intensive Care Hospital’s laboratory. Working in an environment where every second is worth its weight in gold taught her to act instantly and strive for excellence.
The full-scale war of 2022 was a severe test, but it did not deter her from her mission. After the facility was forced to relocate, Alina took the initiative to rebuild the laboratory service practically from scratch. Thanks to her perseverance and tireless work, she managed to set up a modern laboratory in a short period of time, for which she was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Health.
Eager to drive change, Alina initiated the digitization of laboratory processes, enabling doctors to receive test results in real time. Her initiative and high level of professionalism naturally led to her appointment as head nurse in 2026. In this role, she developed and implemented modern infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
Outside of work, Alina remains true to her calling: she is a regular blood donor and is registered in the All-Ukrainian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, supporting our defenders.
