Participant in the regional competition “Young Person of the Year – 2026” in the “Guardian of Resilience” category Dmytro Pochekaev
Dmytro Pochekaev was born in 1992 in Sloviansk. After training as a blacksmith in Kramatorsk, he worked for several years at industrial enterprises in the region. Since 2019, he has been employed by the Kramatorsk Gas Distribution Company of JSC “Donetskoblgaz,” where he currently works as a 4th-class mechanic.
Every day, Dmytro ensures the stable operation of gas networks, maintains gas regulation stations, and performs repair work. However, with the start of the full-scale invasion, his profession has taken on special significance.
Together with his colleagues, Dmytro regularly travels to the sites of strikes immediately after enemy shelling. Working in extreme conditions and risking his life, he inspects damaged utility networks, locates gas leaks, and restores safety to residents’ homes. Recently, he helped clean up after a heavy airstrike in the village of Yasnogirka.
“For me, this is more than just a job. It’s a responsibility to the city and a desire to help people during the most difficult times,” Dmytro shares.
Despite the hardships of wartime, Dmytro Pochekaev is constantly honing his skills, demonstrating high discipline, dedication to his work, and true professionalism. His work is a daily contribution to the resilience and recovery of the Donetsk region.
