Yevhen Muravskyi, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” competition in the “Pulse of Life” category
Choosing a career after residency is always a balancing act between comfort and calling. Yevhen Muravskyi consciously chose the more challenging path. He was captivated by the idea where medicine intersects with advanced engineering: the moment when a human heart stops, and life hangs on the surgeon’s exquisite skill and the precision of the heart-lung machine.
Yevhen honed his professional skills within the walls of the legendary Amosov Institute. It was there that the theory of anesthesiology was transformed into high-stakes practice. It was a school where every reading on the monitor carried the weight of a human life, and where anesthesiologists learned to maintain complete control over the entire body during the most critical moments of surgery.
The year 2023 proved to be a true test of endurance for the doctor when he joined the cardiac surgery department in Kramatorsk. Working within the regional heart attack program, Yevgeny rescued patients from the grip of death every day under conditions that were far from ideal. Three years of working on the front lines taught him the most important lessons—steel-like composure where panic seems natural, and unwavering confidence in his own actions.
Today, Yevhen Muravskyi continues his life-saving mission within the walls of the relocated Mariupol Regional Intensive Care Hospital in Kyiv. And every time artificial circulation takes over the function of a stopped heart, he knows for certain: it is precisely for these moments and for giving people a second chance at life that he chose his professional path.
