Oleksiy Bazaev, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” competition in the “Knowledge Leaders” category
Oleksiy Bazaev is a teacher of law and the “Defense of Ukraine” course at Mariupol Secondary School No. 29. His life story is an example of resilience, professional growth, and dedication to education. Twice, due to the war, he was forced to leave his home: in 2014, his family moved from Donetsk to Mariupol, and after the full-scale invasion began, they moved to Korosten.
After graduating from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Oleksii chose a career in teaching. Today, he combines his work as a teacher with graduate studies, working on his doctoral dissertation and constantly honing his professional skills.
In his law and “Defense of Ukraine” classes, he instills in his students a sense of legal culture, critical thinking, patriotism, and responsibility. He devotes significant attention to working with gifted youth: he prepares students for academic competitions and contests, where his students have already become prize winners at the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Law and winners of national intellectual competitions.
As a homeroom teacher, Oleksii creates an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect, implementing patriotic, volunteer, and educational initiatives with his students, helping them develop leadership qualities and an active civic stance.
Through his daily work, this young educator demonstrates that a true teacher is not only a source of knowledge but also a mentor who inspires young people, helps them overcome challenges, and shapes a generation of responsible citizens of Ukraine.
