On December 24, on the eve of Christmas, a festive event was held for children from the families of fallen Heroes of Donetsk region and those whose parents are in Russian captivity. The young Donetsk residents received exactly what they had dreamed of for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The event was organized by the Department of Veterans Policy of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. Thanks to close cooperation with philanthropists, the holiday was truly warm and heartfelt.
The gifts were provided by the Caritas Kolomyia Charitable Foundation with the support of the Caritas Mariupol Charitable Foundation — a total of 30 packages, which were distributed in accordance with the foundation's conditions. In particular, the gifts were given first to children who are currently in the Donetsk region or in frontline cities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This made it possible to support those who need attention most in difficult circumstances.
This initiative has been running in the Donetsk region for several years now and has become a good tradition that brings together the efforts of the authorities and philanthropists. And we continue to look for opportunities to expand such assistance in the future.
The deputy head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Shevchenko, took part in the celebrations. He congratulated the families on the upcoming holidays and presented the children with their dream packages.
"Today we see smiles on the faces of children, and this is the least we can and must do for the families of those who have given their lives for Ukraine or are currently held captive by the enemy. It is our duty to be a source of support for these children, to give them a little bit of magic and faith in the miracle they are so eagerly awaiting," emphasized Oleksandr Shevchenko.
Providing comprehensive support and care for the children of our heroes is an unwavering priority for each of us. Together, we continue to support every family, preserve shared values, and give children hope for a peaceful and happy future.
