

On September 24, a regular meeting of the working group on assistance, social protection and support for war veterans, military personnel and families of fallen (dead or missing) defenders of Ukraine was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko.
The agenda included the implementation of state and additional social guarantees for these categories, as well as meeting the needs of seriously wounded soldiers, servicemen and civilians released from captivity.
As of today, 290 prisoners of war have been released from captivity in 2025, including 251 servicemen and 39 civilians.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the structural units of the regional state administration, the regional employment center, the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk region, the Donetsk regional territorial recruitment center and district state administrations, district military administrations, the Main Directorates of the National Police in Donetsk region and military administrations whose residents are the above categories of prisoners of war.
Participants from Mariupol, Avdiivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Svitlodarsk city, Ocheretyne, Mangush, Sartana settlement military administrations reported on the work done to identify and meet the needs of these people, in particular in terms of restoring educational documents, providing in-kind and material assistance, sanatorium treatment at the expense of local budgets, etc.
The meeting outlined key areas for further work.
The working group will continue to coordinate its actions as these are our people and we are obliged to provide comprehensive support and assistance.
