On September 25, an online meeting chaired by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, was held to discuss the status of the implementation of veteran policy in the region.
During the meeting, participants discussed current issues related to organizing support for war veterans, demobilized individuals, and their family members.
In particular, they considered the entry into force of the Procedure for Interaction between Specialists Supporting War Veterans and Demobilized Persons and Services Supporting Military Personnel and Their Families within the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to coordinating the work of the structural units responsible for veteran policy within the district state administrations and district military administrations with the region’s territorial communities, as well as to the status of implementation of local programs based on the results of the first eight months of the current year.
Inna Starostina, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Division for Monitoring and Implementation of Veterans’ Programs within the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, reported on comprehensive cooperation at all levels—from the national to the local—regarding support for war veterans and demobilized personnel.
The report also analyzed the coordination of joint activities and the exchange of information among the departments responsible for veterans’ policy within the district state administrations, district military administrations, and local self-government bodies.
Based on the results of the meeting, it was determined that all relevant agencies must continue to work in a coordinated manner to ensure proper support for war veterans, demobilized individuals, and their family members, as well as the effective implementation of local social support programs.
