The regional competition for art school students, “Step to Olympus” – 2026, which brought together over 300 talented kids from different communities in Donetsk region, has come to an end.
Throughout January and February, young artists competed in the following categories: piano, string instruments, folk instruments, wind instruments, and percussion instruments. Vocal art was widely represented, including academic, folk, pop, and jazz singing.
An important part of the competition was music theory training, in particular the category “Music Literature,” as well as theater and visual arts, which demonstrated the diversity of the participants' creative interests.
The most active participants were art schools from Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Sloviansk, and Kostyantynivka. Educational institutions in the field of culture in Mangush, Sartana, Kurakhove, Dobropillia, Toretsk, and other cities and towns in the region also demonstrated worthy results, and each participant, each student, and each teacher who took part in the competition gained valuable experience and felt genuine professional satisfaction.
The jury members noted the high level of preparation of the contestants and emphasized that their perseverance, diligence, and love of art are a vivid testimony to the creative power and resilience of Donetsk region.
The winners of the Grand Prix were students from art schools in the Kostyantynivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and Toretsk territorial communities.
