In June 2026, the Donetsk Regional Ecology and Nature Center held a regional environmental campaign titled “Stop, Trash!” under the theme “Upcycling Fest, or Eco-Transformation.”
The campaign was organized to foster environmental awareness among children and students, promote a culture of responsible consumption and material reuse, and develop creative skills through upcycling.
A total of 189 students from 22 local communities in the Donetsk region participated in the campaign. The jury reviewed 188 entries submitted in six categories: “Eco-Toy: A New Friend,” “Stationery Workshop,” “Upcycle Decor: Coziness at Home,” “Stylish Accessory,” “Eco-Fashion: Wardrobe Reinvention,” and “Techno-Art.”
The submitted works demonstrated a high level of environmental awareness, creativity, and craftsmanship among the participants. It is important to note that children with special educational needs actively participated in the campaign, demonstrating creativity, a responsible attitude toward the environment, and a desire to conserve natural resources.
