Every day, participants of the “Recovery Army” initiative carry out tasks that ensure the stable functioning of communities in Donetsk region. They assist elderly residents, people with limited mobility, and persons with disabilities. For many beneficiaries, this support is critically important — from delivering humanitarian aid packages to providing basic care.
This year, 1,032 referrals for socially useful work have been issued in the region as part of the project.
Work at critical infrastructure facilities and protective structures also plays a significant role. In the communities of Donetsk region, participants in community service are involved in setting up shelters, performing current repairs, restoring damaged premises, and clearing debris after shelling. These tasks require prompt action and allow people to remain and work in their own communities.
As of January 1, 2026, payment for a full month of socially useful work amounts to at least UAH 8,647. However, the most valuable outcomes are the experience gained, new skills acquired, and the sense of purpose and belonging to an important common cause.
