A creative gathering was held for residents of the Donetsk region as a symbol of unity and to honor the memory of the children who lost their lives

War takes away what is most precious – our country’s future. Every year on 4 June, Ukraine and the whole world remember those whose lives were cut short too soon. To mark the occasion, the State Historical and Architectural Reserve Administration in Sviatohirsk organised a cultural and educational event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for Children who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The creative gathering, filled with quiet sorrow and solidarity, brought together residents of the Donetsk region who are currently in the Kyiv region.

The event took an interactive format and combined elements of historical remembrance and art therapy. Its aim was to honour the innocent victims of the war, as well as to help participants express their pain, experiences and hope through creativity.

During the meeting, participants created angels and doves – symbols of remembrance, mourning and hope. Each piece became a sincere expression of compassion, prayer and grateful remembrance for the little hearts that will remain in our thoughts forever.

The joint result of this creative work was the creation of a themed installation as a tribute to the children who lost their lives as a result of the war, which united the participants around a shared memory and served as a reminder of the value of children’s lives, a peaceful sky and humanity.
