On September 23, a meeting of the Coordination Center for Civilian Support under the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Regional Military Administration was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko.
The meeting was attended by representatives of structural units of the regional state administration, representatives of central and local authorities, law enforcement agencies, state and municipal enterprises, public and charitable organizations, as well as members of the coordination council.
A number of important issues were discussed at the event. In particular, they talked about organizing events to commemorate the fallen defenders of Ukraine. In 2024, 1,426 family members of the fallen received financial assistance totaling UAH 7.1 million. In 2025, payments of UAH 8.3 million were planned for 1663 family members of the fallen.
The issue of protecting the rights of orphans, children deprived of parental care and those in difficult life circumstances was discussed separately. Despite the difficult security situation, there are more than 15,000 children in the region, 114 of whom are in need of special attention. There are 66 family-type orphanages, 123 foster families and 7 foster care families in the region, which together raise more than 700 children.
Attention was also paid to the development of physical education and recreation activities for IDPs. Since the beginning of this year, 138 regional events have been held. As of now, sports clubs for IDPs operate at 133 locations in 52 settlements across the country. An interactive Google map of available sections was developed for the convenience of residents.
Following the meeting, the relevant instructions were given for further work in the identified areas. The Coordination Center will continue to work to respond to the needs of residents in a timely manner and provide support to the civilian population of Donetsk Oblast.
