The Donetsk Regional Library for Children has initiated a new format for professional self-expression for librarians in the region's territorial communities — a regional creative workshop called “Librarian: Mastery Without Limits” with this year's theme “Library Book Blogger.”
The project is aimed at those who want to talk about books in the modern, dynamic language of social media. At the heart of the initiative is the creation of short video reviews or visual recommendations of books: personal, lively, and creative.
Participants in the creative workshop can choose any convenient format for their submissions, from video stories to stylized book sketches. The main condition is to talk about books that can be found in the library or purchased in Ukrainian bookstores.
Entries can be submitted until August 25, 2025, by filling out the form at https://forms.gle/xfvH1NcYoZmP5nBt7.
The most interesting videos will be published on the regional library's platforms, and their authors will be honored at the final event, which will include viewing and discussing the best videos.
This event combines librarianship, digital culture, and personal initiative, which is how the organizers envision the workshop. The project is being implemented in light of the new conditions in which, during the war, every conversation about a book also becomes a way to support each other and maintain a connection with culture.
