From November 3 to November 21, 2025, the Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunist" is holding the III Open Online Poetry and Drawing Contest "Memory of the Future" to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor.
This contest is not about the past. It is about us today: about our ability to feel, understand, preserve, and convey the truth. It is a dialogue between the past and the present. Between the pain we remember and the dignity with which we live on.
Students aged 6 to 21 from general secondary, extracurricular, vocational (vocational-technical), pre-higher, and higher education institutions are invited to participate.
The competition has two categories:
- "Poetry Recitation" – a video performance with an artistic reading of your own or a well-known work;
- "Drawing" – a photo of your own work that explores the theme of memory, resilience, and humanity.
To participate, you must send your application and video/photo of your work by November 12, 2025 (inclusive) to the email address: [email protected] (marked "Holodomor").
Each participant must submit a separate application.
From November 18 to 20, online voting for the Audience Choice Award will take place on the website yunist.org.ua.
The results of the competition will be announced on November 21, 2025.
Memory is not the past. It is the roots from which the future sprouts. It is our immunity to indifference.
