A workshop on implementing inclusive approaches in the cultural sphere will be held in Donetsk Oblast

The Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History invites representatives of museums, cultural and educational institutions, the public sector, and all interested parties to participate in the workshop “Culture Without Borders,” aimed at developing practical skills for ensuring the physical, information, and digital accessibility of cultural institutions, as well as to develop inclusive strategies in the context of safe interaction with different social groups.

Key issues of the workshop:

·       tools for interacting with the audience for effective presentation of cultural products;

·       basic principles and standards of web accessibility;

·      ethics of interaction with military personnel and veterans as the basis for creating a safe space;

·      practical aspects of using alt-text and overcoming barriers to communication;

·       avoiding stigmatization and introducing professional language of respect.

Speakers at the event: Marina Stashyna-Neymet – ambassador for accessibility for the All-Ukrainian social change campaign “Accessibility is when you can”; Ihor Shamko – lawyer for the Public Union of Veterans and Persons with Disabilities “Echoes of War”; Dmytro Popov – national consultant on accessibility for UNDP in Ukraine, director of Digital Accessibility Laboratory LLC.

The workshop will be held on March 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., online (Google Meet platform).
