A meeting of the Advisory Council on Veterans and Families of Fallen Defenders was held in Donetsk region at the regional state administration.

On June 18, 2025, the Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Shevchenko, held another meeting of the Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs, Families of Fallen (Deceased) Defenders of Ukraine at the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

During the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed:

  • Development of the Regional Program for Supporting War Veterans and Families of Fallen Defenders of Ukraine for 2025–2030.
  • Provision of social adaptation services for veterans and their families.
  • Provision of free dental prosthetics and treatment services for Defenders of Ukraine at the KNP "City Hospital No. 2" in Kramatorsk and the Dental Clinic in Sloviansk.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of an experimental project to provide state assistance for the full coverage of the cost of annual tuition for paid places in institutions of all forms of ownership for children of individuals who participated in the defense of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity. 

As of today, 13 higher education institutions in the Donetsk region have already joined the project, including:

  1. Azov State Technical University
  2. Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus
  3. Mariupol State University
  4. Donbas State Engineering Academy
  5. Donetsk National Technical University
  6. Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages
  7. Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs
  8. Donbas State Pedagogical University
  9. Drushkivka Vocational College of DDMU
  10. Mariupol Vocational College of PDTU
  11. Donbas Vocational College of Technologies and Management
  12. Konstantynivka Industrial Vocational College of DNTU
  13. Sloviansk Vocational College of Industry and Pharmacy

As a result of the meeting of the Advisory Council, a number of joint decisions were made and relevant instructions were given for the further implementation of veteran policy in the region.
