Ukraine continues to implement systemic measures aimed at creating a safe digital environment. Safer Internet Day is an annual global initiative launched by the European Union to raise public awareness of online safety issues, especially for children and teenagers.

From February 10 to 27, cultural and educational institutions and youth centers in Donetsk Oblast joined in conducting informational and educational initiatives dedicated to Safer Internet Day.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Regional State Administration, together with the Department of Information and Computer Support of the Regional State Administration, held a regional online event for schoolchildren and students of the region on the topic "Deepfake: digital illusions and secrets of artificial intelligence."

The initiative aims to raise awareness among children and adolescents about the risks in the digital environment and to promote critical thinking and responsible behavior in the information and communication space.

During the event, participants received practical advice on verifying information sources and recognizing content created using artificial intelligence.

Such events help the younger generation develop safe digital behavior skills, media literacy, and a responsible attitude toward consuming and disseminating information on the Internet.
