December traditionally marks the start of a new grant season — the perfect time to prepare your own cultural initiatives and submit them to competitions organised by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and other donor programmes. To help cultural professionals prepare for this stage, the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History held an online workshop on 22 October as part of the ‘Methodological Treasure Trove’ series on the topic of ‘Project Management in the Field of Culture’.
Employees of cultural institutions in Donetsk Oblast took part in the workshop, where they had the opportunity to learn about current trends, tools, and practical approaches in the field of project management.
The speaker at the event was Olga Shlyakhova, lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Management at the National University of Ostroh Academy and project manager at the Museum of the History of Ostroh Academy. She shared her experience of implementing successful projects in the field of culture and talked about the specifics of managing projects from idea to result.
During the workshop, participants reviewed the key stages of project development, discussed examples from museum practice, and received useful advice on how to prepare an application, budget, and presentation of an idea.
The knowledge and practical advice gained will be useful when preparing their own projects, which participants will be able to submit to grant competitions in the near future.
