In May, the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren held the second (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian Military-Patriotic Game for Children and Youth “Sokil” (“Dzhura”) for participants in the middle age group.

The game brought together active and motivated youth from Donetsk Oblast around the values of patriotism, responsibility, mutual support, and love for Ukraine. Thirty-two teams—256 participants from local communities across the region—took part in the competition.

The program for the regional stage included six competitive challenges, during which the participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities both intellectually and practically. Participants presented their teams, demonstrated their knowledge of Ukrainian history and Cossack traditions in the “Vidun” quiz game, competed in the “Rescuer” and “Drill” contests, and showcased their ability to work as a team, navigate the terrain, and organize a camp as part of the “Camping” contest.

What is particularly valuable is that even in a remote format, the game retained its core purpose—to nurture conscious, strong, and responsible young Ukrainians who are ready to support one another and be worthy citizens of their country.

Winners of the regional stage in the middle age group
