14,800 children remain displaced in Donetsk region

There are still 208,000 civilians living in the government-controlled areas of Donetsk region, including 14,800 children. In the area of active hostilities, there are no children left in 21 communities, and 17,800 civilians live as adults.

The progress of the evacuation in Donetsk Oblast was discussed at a traditional briefing at the regional state administration with the participation of representatives of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense and the Department of Social Protection.

Over the past week, 1700 people have been evacuated or left Donetsk Oblast on their own, including 300 children. This was reported by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the department for civil protection, mobilization and defense work.

In the four settlements where families with children are being forcibly evacuated, 1,465 minors remain living. These are children in Druzhkivka and three villages of Kryvyi Rih community. Over the past week, 138 children have been evacuated from the settlements where the forced evacuation of families with children has been announced.

Such evacuation began in Donetsk region on April 7, 2023, and 17,897 children have been evacuated since then. All children have been taken from 349 settlements where forced evacuation of families with children was announced and continued.

The free resettlement of people from Donetsk region in other regions continues. According to Dmytro Pozharsky, Head of the Social Services Division of the Department of Social Protection, over the past week, the joint efforts of all levels of government, volunteers and philanthropists have helped to resettle 139 people. Among them were 36 people with limited mobility and 23 children. Over the past week, Rivne Oblast has received the most residents from Donetsk for resettlement, with 89 evacuees accommodated.

Today, with the support of the Ministry of Social Policy and Ukrzaliznytsia, 9 people with limited mobility from Donetsk arrived in Ivano-Frankivsk region. A specialized car was provided to transport them, and they will be accommodated in a specialized facility.

A large family with 6 children will go to Vinnytsia region, the youngest child was born in 2025. They managed to find a house near Koziatyno where the family will be safe.

In total, since the beginning of this month, 447 people have been accommodated free of charge, including 133 people with limited mobility and 53 children. Free accommodation is provided to all those who apply for such assistance, reminded Dmitry Pozharsky.
