From January 12 to 27, the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children's and Youth Creativity held a regional commemorative event called "Light of Memory." More than 600 students from extracurricular and general secondary education institutions in Donetsk Oblast took part in the event.
The Holocaust is one of the most terrible tragedies in human history, a symbol of boundless pain and the loss of millions of innocent lives. This catastrophe was the result of a deliberate Nazi policy that took the lives of six million Jews. The systematic extermination of people on the basis of their nationality will forever remain a key lesson for the world about what indifference, hatred, and silence can lead to when a community turns a blind eye to the crimes of an aggressor for too long.
Adults and children in Donetsk shared photos and creative works on social media:
- they lit candles of remembrance;
- they created themed drawings depicting the Star of David;
- they made crafts, meaningful posters, collages, and wall newspapers;
- recited poems, recorded videos reading poetry and prose dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust;
- prepared photographs and informational videos, including those using neural networks and modern digital tools.
Light a candle of remembrance!
The light of memory never fades.
