The Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren has concluded the second (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian Military-Patriotic Game for Children and Youth “Sokil” (“Dzhura”) for the older age group. The competition took place remotely and brought together the most active and motivated youth of Donetsk Oblast.
A total of 27 teams—comprising 216 participants from local communities across the region—took part. Throughout the week, the boys and girls demonstrated their knowledge, practical skills, endurance, responsibility, unity, and readiness to act as a true team.
Modern digital platforms were used to conduct the competition; participants worked in virtual classrooms, took tests, completed practical tasks, and submitted video reports.
The stage’s program covered seven competition categories. The teams presented themselves in the “Team Presentation,” demonstrated their knowledge of Ukrainian history in the “Vidun” quiz game, underwent first aid tests in the “Rescuer” competition, and showcased their skills in camping, drill training, and orienteering.
Winners of the regional stage:
1st place — the “Haidamaky” team from Velykonovosilky Secondary School No. 2 (grades 1–12) of the Velykonovosilky Village Council (advisor Viktor Pankov)
2nd place — the “Steppe Archers” troop from the Kurakhiv “Prestige” Lyceum (academic track) of the Kurakhiv City Council (advisor Olena Bagriy)
Third place — the “Young Cossacks” squad from Selidiv Lyceum No. 1 of the Selidiv City Council (advisor Mykola Lukyanenko)
The winning squads will participate in the final camp, which will take place at the end of June in the Khmelnytskyi region.
The “Haidamaks” team will represent the Donetsk region at the All-Ukrainian stage of the “Sokil” (“Dzhura”) competition in Zakarpattia.
