On October 16, a forum titled “Veterans’ Policy in Local Communities: From Legislative Gaps to Practical Approaches” was held in Dnipro, organized by the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine.

The event brought together representatives of regional and local authorities, social protection, health care, and employment services, organizations that provide support to veterans, their family members, and military personnel, as well as experts in the fields of veteran policy and gender equality.

Forum participants focused on the practical aspects of implementing veterans’ policy at the local community level. They discussed ways to integrate national and regional initiatives into local services, establish interagency cooperation and coordination, and find effective solutions to overcome challenges arising during the implementation of veterans’ policy at the local level.

Artur Nasibyan, Head of the Department for Veterans’ Policy at the Regional State Administration, shared the Donetsk region’s experience in developing and implementing veterans’ policy under martial law and during relocation.
