As part of a working visit to the Lviv region, Oleksandr Shevchenko, deputy head of the regional state administration, visited the “YaMariupol.Rodina” Recreation Center, which provides health rehabilitation, social support, and assistance with adaptation for evacuated residents of Mariupol.
The center is located in the city of Morshyn and serves as a vital hub for assisting internally displaced persons from the Mariupol community. Here, residents of Mariupol have the opportunity to undergo rehabilitation, receive social services and psychological support, and strengthen their ties with the community.
Since the Center began operations in 2023, 7,508 people have already used its services, including 1,674 children and 4,459 elderly individuals. In 2026, 13 rehabilitation sessions are planned, which are expected to serve approximately 2,250 residents of the Mariupol community. The first session of this year began on April 20, and the sixth session is currently underway, with 177 people participating in the health program.
Additionally, a day care branch of the Territorial Social Services Center for the Central District of Mariupol began operating in the city of Morshyn in May 2026.
The first participants in the program were 120 elderly people and individuals with disabilities. They are undergoing a health improvement program and receiving the necessary social services and psychological support. The combination of medical care, rehabilitation, and the peaceful atmosphere of Morshyn helps people restore their physical and psychological well-being. Clients of the day care center are transported to the resort and back home free of charge.
