This was reported by the Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Head of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
Even before the full-scale war, Gdańsk supported Mariupol and helped implement modern solutions. After 2022, it became one of the first European cities to extend a helping hand.
In Rome, the Mariupol community delegation held a series of important meetings: with the Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Matthieu Mori; the President of the Congress, Markku Markkula; Congress representatives Veronique Bertol and Amélie Tarshis-Ingre; as well as with Carolina Lindholm, a representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Ukraine.
The discussions primarily focused on social housing construction projects and the importance of continuing support for communities affected by the war.
I would like to thank all our international partners for their support. Such meetings are not just diplomacy — they are concrete steps towards recovery, dignity, and returning home.
