A total of 206,000 civilians remain living in the government-controlled areas of Donetsk region. Over the past week, 2,470 people left the region on their own or were evacuated.
The evacuation in Donetsk Oblast was discussed during a traditional briefing at the regional state administration with representatives of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense, the Children's Service and the Department of Social Protection.
The territory of 20 communities is now part of the active combat zone. There are still 17,300 people living there. There are no children in this area. This was reported by Dmitry Petlin, head of the department of emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the department for civil protection, mobilization and defense work.
A total of 14,461 children currently live in the region. The forced evacuation of families with children continues in two communities - Kryvyi Rih and Druzhkivka. According to Yulia Ryzhakova, head of the children's service, 1309 children remain in the three settlements. There are 8 children in two villages of the Kryvyi Rih community, and 1301 children in the city of Druzhkivka.
Over the past week, 178 children were evacuated from the settlements where the forced evacuation of families with children continues. Three children were evacuated from Kryvyi Rih community and 175 from Druzhkovka.
Resettlement of Donetsk residents outside the region to safer areas continues. According to Dmytro Pozharsky, head of the social services division of the Department of Social Protection, 101 people were resettled over the past week. The main region that is currently accepting evacuated Donetsk residents for free resettlement is Rivne region. But people are also being transported and settled in other regions of Ukraine. In September, a total of 531 evacuees from Donetsk region were accommodated free of charge. Among them are 77 children, 145 adults with limited mobility and 7 people with disabilities.
The transit hub in Kharkiv region is currently experiencing a greater load, with up to 200 people from Donetsk region being accommodated per day. The transit hub in Dnipropetrovs'k region has increased the pace of evacuation in Dnipropetrovs'k region, so up to 50 people from Donetsk region are being evacuated there per day.
The participants of the briefing once again urged not to delay the evacuation, especially given the onset of cold weather and the worsening security situation.
