Women in Ukraine are increasingly breaking stereotypes and choosing professions that until recently were considered “male.” They drive trucks, work with machinery, master complex production processes, and prove: there are no limits for those who have goals and the desire to grow.
The State Employment Service helps women acquire in-demand professions with guaranteed employment. Within the framework of an experimental project, they can receive free training in technical fields. Available options include truck driver, tractor operator, locksmith, welder, CNC machine operator, renewable energy systems installer, and other technical specialties.
How does it work?
An employer submits a training request and, upon completion, commits to employing the woman. She selects an educational institution and a profession from the approved list, and the Employment Service covers the cost of training (up to 10 subsistence minimums, currently 30,280 UAH). If the training costs more, the difference can be paid by the employer or the participant herself.
The project is already underway! At the end of May, a group of women from Donetsk region began training as tractor operators at the Oleksandrivka Vocational Agrarian Lyceum.
