The Beregynya decorative and applied arts club, which operates under the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren, has opened a new location in Chernivtsi.
Kateryna Kostiv, the club's director, has created a space for children where they can not only learn a craft, but also feel the ground beneath their feet again. Classes are held at the City Center for Children's and Youth Creativity and are designed to support children who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Kateryna introduces children to Ukrainian traditions, teaches them how to work with different materials, and explains the subtleties of choosing colors and textures. It is a space where children create their own souvenirs, learn to pay attention to details, and discover their creativity.
Importantly, it is not only skills that are developed here, but also a culture of work, the ability to interact and support one another.
Thus, Berehynia's activities in Chernivtsi not only promote the development of creative skills, but also provide critically important social and psychological support for internally displaced children from Donetsk Oblast.
