The government has approved a mechanism for acquiring special status for veteran businesses

Published 13 February 2026 year, 14:50

🔹The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Procedure for granting, revoking, terminating, and renewing the status of a veteran entrepreneur.

The document was developed by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Veteran Entrepreneurship."

From now on, veterans will have a clear and transparent mechanism for obtaining special status for their businesses. This is an important step towards the formation of systematic state support for veteran entrepreneurship and strengthening the economic independence of defenders in civilian life.

🔹What does the status of a veteran entrepreneur provide?

It is official recognition by the state of the entrepreneurial activity of a veteran. The status opens access to special financial support programs, grants, preferential mechanisms, and other business development tools. Government agencies, financial institutions, and donor organizations may provide special conditions or priority for such enterprises.

In addition, the status increases trust among partners and customers, simplifies participation in state and local initiatives, and contributes to the formation of a positive image of veteran businesses.

🔹Who can obtain the status

▪  veterans who are registered as individual entrepreneurs (FOP);

▪  veterans who are self-employed (lawyers, private executors, notaries, arbitration managers, etc.) and are registered for tax purposes as self-employed persons;

▪  private legal entities, if their founders, participants, or ultimate beneficiaries are war veterans.

🔹How to obtain status

You will need to submit an application to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. We will provide additional information about the detailed procedure.

🔹Why is this important?

The status of a veteran entrepreneur is not only a legal mechanism of support, but also a real tool for strengthening the economic capacity of veterans and their integration into civilian life through the development of their own businesses.
