In the sanatorium and health center for social rehabilitation "Emerald City," which is currently relocated to the village of Orynin in the Khmelnytskyi region, an ecological expedition took place. The organizer was traditionally the Donetsk Regional Ecological and Naturalist Center.
The program was rich and educational: participants explored the beneficial properties of water, made filters from improvised materials, and conducted water quality analysis before and after filtration. They learned to weave "Anti-Mosquito" bracelets with essential oils, identified local plants using the iNaturalist app, created herbariums, and crafted "Treasures of Summer."
No less exciting was the master class on mehendi – the art of body ornamentation, as well as a creative task within the regional competition "Ecological Paths of Donetsk Region." The children interviewed local residents, researched the history of the area, identified ecological problems in Orynin, and proposed solutions, studying the local flora, fauna, and ornithofauna.
The expedition became a space for forming important values – responsibility, teamwork, and caring for nature. Over five days, the children felt like researchers, artists, discoverers, and most importantly – part of a united eco-community.
