Kateryna Vorobyova - participant of the Woman of Donetsk Region 2025 contest, nomination "Heart in Armor"
Kateryna Vorobiova is a young woman from Donetsk Oblast who combines tenderness and strength, devotion and courage. She was born in Volnovakha, in a family of warmth and support. A happy childhood with her family, the smell of her mother's pies and the silence of the steppes engraved in her heart a love for her native land. Even in her school days, Kateryna stood out for her determination, leadership, and concern for people, qualities that became the basis of her life choices.
In 2020, she entered the National University of Internal Affairs in Kharkiv, choosing to major in Law Enforcement. For Kateryna, this was not just a step towards a profession, but a conscious decision to devote her life to justice, helping and protecting those who need it most.
The year 2022 was a turning point. A full-scale invasion forced her family to leave their home, which no longer existed. Despite the pain of loss, the girl did not give up. She continued her studies and in 2023 graduated from university and returned to her native Donetsk region to serve in the Volnovakha District Police Department.
Today she is a senior police lieutenant for whom the rank is not a formality but a symbol of trust, an oath, and a daily choice to stay on the side of the law. For her dedicated service, she received a letter of appreciation from the Head of the National Police of Ukraine. However, she considers the sincere words of people, their gratitude and hope in their eyes to be the greatest reward.
Kateryna is an inspiration with her steadfastness. She is a heart in armor. A heart that beats for Donetsk region, for people, for the truth. A heart that continues to shine where there seems to be no light anymore. And as long as it beats, faith lives, hope lives, and unconquered Ukraine lives.
