Anastasia Yatskevich – participant in the 2025 regional competition “Woman of Donetsk Region,” nomination “The Power of Goodness and Unity”
Anastasia Yatskevich from the city of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region, is a volunteer and researcher who brings hope and light to people. Volunteering has always been a part of her life. When the full-scale invasion began, Anastasia could not stand aside.
She had been with the Search-Donbas public organization since 2021, but did not do much—just reposts.
February 2022 changed everything. Communicating with people, a lot of work on social media, and all of it was endless.
In addition to her online work, Anastasia constantly visited the House of Culture in the city of Myrnohrad, where local authorities, young people, and concerned citizens had organized a volunteer headquarters, but more than that, a school, which was located near where she lived. People from the hottest regions arrived there. Anastasia brought everything she could: water, food, medicine.
In June 2022, she went out for the first time to search for a missing man in Mirnograd. Anastasia was the youngest of the volunteers who went out at that time. The coordinator was very worried about her, but everyone was overcome by the desire to help the wife of the missing man. Then, a week later, she went out again. Unfortunately, the man was never found, but Anastasia's desire to help people grew even stronger.
