Liudmyla Shapovalova - participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Power of Goodness and Unity"
There is a woman in the Kostiantynopil starosta district of the Velykonovosilkivska community who is known to every resident. In the most difficult times, the district starosta Liudmyla Anatoliyivna has become a support and hope for many people. Her name is associated with kindness, responsibility and steadfastness.
When the full-scale war began, she immediately took on the mission of helping people. First, it was the military, for whom she found housing, provided food and other necessities. Then - to the IDPs who fled the shelling. She organized humanitarian aid, wrote appeals, and negotiated with volunteers to ensure that the community had enough food, clothing, and basic necessities.
The evacuation of the district residents was a special challenge. Liudmyla Anatoliivna personally took care of transportation and routes, helped families with children, the elderly and the sick. Her precise actions saved dozens of lives. She knew how to calm, encourage, and find the right words of support. Her example united people, proving that we can survive together.
For her tireless work, she received a certificate of appreciation from the head of the Velykonovosilkivka village military administration, although she says: "I'm just doing what every person should do at such a time."
On February 14, 2025, Liudmyla became the head of the Support Center for the residents of the Velykonovosilkovo community in Vasylkivka. Here, under her leadership, the distribution of humanitarian aid, medical and legal consultations are organized. Particular attention is paid to children - holidays, master classes and creative activities are organized for them. For adults, cultural meetings are organized to bring the community together.
Today, Lyudmyla Shapovalova is known far beyond her native village. She proves that even in the most difficult times, one person can change the lives of hundreds of others. This is the true power of goodness and unity.
