Kateryna Vodianytska - participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Caring Heart"
The war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians, but even in the most difficult times, there are those who continue to serve people, give them hope and support. One of these women is Kateryna Vodianytska, a general practitioner in the Siverska community, who is currently working with IDPs in the Dnipro region.
Having left her home due to constant shelling, she did not abandon her profession or her patients. On the contrary, her vocation to help people has become even stronger. Today, Kateryna Vodianytska treats and supports those who have been forced to leave their homes, lost their places of origin, and are trying to find a footing in a new stage of life.
Her work is not only about medicine. It's about human warmth, words of support and attention, which IDPs need so much. She helps people overcome not only physical pain, but also the psychological consequences of war. For many IDPs, Ms. Katerina has become someone who restores their faith in the future, in goodness and in themselves.
She proves that a real doctor is not just a profession, it is a mission. Being there in the most difficult moments, taking care of the health and mental state of people who have lost everything is a true service.
That is why this woman became a participant in the "Woman of Donetsk Region" contest - as a symbol of resilience, professionalism and boundless love for people. Kateryna Vodianytska's story is a story of how the strength of one person can support hundreds.
