Olga Firtich – participant in the 2025 regional competition “Woman of Donetsk Region,” nominated in the category “Creator of Change and Opportunities”
Olga Firtich is a project lawyer and advocate whose work is changing the lives of women in the Donetsk region.
In March 2022, she was forced to leave Sloviansk for Dnipro. Without family or friends, leaving her beloved cat at home, Olga experienced all the difficulties of life as an IDP. This experience prompted her to make a change—she started working at a charitable foundation, helping large families and single women who had suffered from violence, as well as those who found themselves in difficult circumstances.
With a legal education, Olga wrote statements and complaints, but felt that this was not enough. So in 2025, she became a lawyer in order to have real powers to defend women in court. “I wanted not only to write statements, but also to seek justice for my clients,” she says.
Despite her new life in Dnipro, Olga's heart is always with her native Donetsk region. She organizes events in Sloviansk, Sviatohirsk, Kramatorsk, and Mykolaivka, where she shares her knowledge, inspires women, and creates a supportive environment.
Her story is an example of strength, humanity, and faith that change begins with each individual.
