On June 9, 2026, the Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Meaningful Education: Why We Teach and Learn,” which brought together nearly 100 educators from the region who work with gifted students.

During the event, representatives of the Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education presented modern approaches to career guidance for students, the development of critical thinking, creativity, and children’s personal potential, as well as the implementation of trauma-informed pedagogy tools in the educational process.

Special attention was given to issues of career guidance for students, the development of critical thinking, creativity, and self-awareness skills, which help young people consciously shape their own educational and professional paths.

Representatives of the Dobropillia City Council’s Educational Complex “General Education School No. 7 (Grades 1–3) – Preschool” shared their practices, presenting their experience in implementing the “Path to Oneself” self-development and self-awareness marathon.

Participants also discussed modern approaches to creating a safe educational environment for children who have experienced traumatic events, and familiarized themselves with the basic tools of trauma-informed pedagogy and practices for supporting students’ emotional well-being.

Following the roundtable, educators emphasized the importance of developing students’ personal potential, fostering critical thinking and a creative approach to learning, and ensuring children’s psychological resilience in the face of contemporary challenges.
