As part of the National Barrier-Free Week, a presentation of the educational series "Simple Language for Complex Topics" took place, which is now available on the Diia.Education platform. This five-part video course is designed to teach the creation of official texts that are easy to read, understand, and trust. It demonstrates how to simplify documents, announcements, and instructions while preserving their content.

The course is aimed at civil servants but will be useful for anyone who works with texts, documents, or communicates with people. The creation of the educational series was made possible by UNDP within the framework of the "Mine Action in Ukraine" project with the support of the government of the Republic of Korea, at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

The Acting Permanent Representative of UNDP in Ukraine, Christoforos Politis, emphasized the importance of simple language for all segments of the population, highlighting that the accessibility of official information ensures equal opportunities for all citizens. He also noted that the online course on simple language is part of broader reforms towards barrier-free communication and will be effective if there is wide citizen engagement.

It is worth noting that "simple language" is a thoughtful style where each sentence conveys one idea, complex abbreviations and terms are absent, and all information is logically structured. To implement such communication, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved Order No. 1046-r, which recommends that government bodies provide information in an accessible and understandable manner.

The National Barrier-Free Week is an initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, aimed at increasing the accessibility of public services and information for all.
