Twenty-six internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region, who currently live in the Khust community, enjoyed a wonderful vacation amid the picturesque natural scenery of Transcarpathia.
With the support of the nonprofit organization “Protection of the State,” which provided meals during the trip, and the Khust City Council, which arranged transportation for the group as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” our fellow citizens enjoyed a comfortable stay at Lake Synevyr and visited the Brown Bear Rehabilitation Center.
“Spending time in nature is the best antidepressant. The beauty and tranquility of Synevyr fill you with energy, and encountering bears in their natural habitat takes your breath away and leaves you with unforgettable memories. I sincerely thank the donors from the NGO ‘Protection of the State’ and the Khust City Council for their help in organizing this small tour for the hub’s visitors,” said Viktor Hrytsak, head of the “Unity” Humanitarian Hub of the Pokrovsk MBA.
As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” the Pokrovsk and Khust communities signed a memorandum under which the host community provides comprehensive support to IDPs from the Pokrovsk community. This initiative helps displaced persons not only adapt to their new living conditions but also feel cared for, experience a sense of unity, and find psychological relief after the hardships they have endured.
Cooperation between the communities within the framework of the national project will continue, as caring for people is a shared priority for the sake of our future.
