Business Support in Action: How Serhii Kravtsov Revived His Enterprise with the Assistance of the Employment Service

Published 11 August 2025 year, 14:05

In wartime conditions, supporting entrepreneurship has become an important state strategy, and the employment service — a reliable partner for those striving to grow.

A vivid example of such cooperation is the story of entrepreneur Serhii Kravtsov. He began his business in 2017 in the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. After the outbreak of active hostilities, he was forced to evacuate and temporarily suspend operations.

During one of the business meetings, Serhii learned from employment service specialists about the state grant program "Own Business". After receiving consultations, he developed a business plan, submitted an application, and soon became a winner of the competition.

In October 2023, the entrepreneur resumed operations in the city of Myrnohrad, created new jobs, and employed internally displaced persons (IDPs) with the assistance of the employment service. The center’s specialists provided comprehensive support, helped with staff recruitment, and assisted in arranging wage compensation for hiring IDPs.

Unfortunately, in 2024, due to the deteriorating security situation, Serhii had to relocate his business for the second time — this time to Kyiv. There, he continued his work — purifying and selling drinking water — and again turned to the employment service for support. Thanks to the state program for compensating the wage costs of IDPs during martial law, the entrepreneur gained additional resources for growth.

Serhii’s entrepreneurial journey is an example of how state support, the persistence of the entrepreneur himself, and effective cooperation with employment service specialists can yield results even in the most challenging times.
