A delegation from the Soledar City Military Administration paid an official visit to Drohobych, Lviv Oblast.
During the visit, representatives of Soledar took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 169th anniversary of Ivan Franko's birth and attended the Kamenyar International Prize ceremony.
On August 28, the delegation held an official meeting with the leadership of the Drohobych community. The main purpose of the visit was to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Soledar and Drohobych within the framework of the national project "Side by Side: Cohesive Communities". The signing ceremony took place during the plenary session of the city council in the presence of the deputies.
As a sign of mutual respect and gratitude, the Soledar IBA handed over to Drohobych the battle flags of military units formed in the Soledar region. In the future, these banners will be added to the collection of the local museum.
Symbolic gifts were also exchanged: the mayor of Drohobych received salt made in Soledar on the eve of the full-scale invasion, commemorative watches and a book about Donetsk region. In return, the head of the Soledar MVA was presented with a book about Drohobych and memorabilia.
At the meeting, the community leaders discussed prospects for further cooperation in the social, cultural and communal spheres. Particular attention was paid to supporting IDPs currently living in the Drohobych community.
Priority tasks include providing housing for IDPs, creating employment opportunities and education for children. An important factor in this process is the assistance of international partners.
The Soledar MBA emphasizes that despite the large-scale destruction caused by the war, the community maintains faith in rebuilding its hometown and restoring its industrial potential. The joint work of Ukrainian communities is the key to the future Victory and the revival of the state.
