Side by side: residents of Bakhmut, Goscha, Kremenchuk, and Gostomel joined forces in a photo challenge for Unity Day

Published 22 January 2026 year, 12:35

On the occasion of Ukraine's Unity Day, an interregional photo challenge entitled "Ukraine from my window" was held as part of the "Side by Side: United Communities" project.

Residents of the Bakhmut community, who are currently scattered throughout the country, joined forces with residents of partner communities: Hoshcha, Kremenchuk, and Gostomel.

The goal of the challenge was profound: to show that despite the distance and challenges of war, we all look at the same peaceful Ukrainian sky, love our land, and cherish hope.

Participants shared photos of the landscapes they see every day. The people of Bakhmut showed Ukraine as it is for them today in different cities of refuge, keeping their native home in their hearts. The Goscha community shared the comfort of picturesque Rivne region. The people of Kremenchuk demonstrated the grandeur of the Dnipro and the indestructibility of Poltava region. The people of Gostomel showed the revival of their heroic community in the Kyiv region.

The Side by Side: United Communities project proves that when communities work together, the voice of young people becomes louder and the ties between regions become stronger. This challenge is about Ukraine being united in every glance, every city, and every heart.

We thank our partners from Hoshcha, Kremenchuk, and Gostomel for supporting the initiative and actively participating!

Together we are strong, together we are Ukraine!
