As part of strengthening interregional cooperation and implementing the national project "Side by Side: United Communities," a group of children from the Selidivska community visited the city of Boryslav on a cultural and educational trip. This trip, organized for children from disadvantaged groups, became a platform for psychological relief and a deep introduction to the traditions of the Lviv region.
The program began with official meetings and active recreation. The children met with the mayor of Boryslav, Igor Yavorsky, receiving pleasant gifts and a warm welcome. The young travelers went to the Bukovytsia ski resort, where they took their first skiing master class under the guidance of instructors.
An important part of the trip was the exchange of experiences between the young people. At the Faino Hub, the Selidovo students met with participants in the Sokil (Dzhura) game and Plast scouts. Our students presented patriotic initiatives: a virtual memorial museum for deceased graduates and a digital recreation of the destroyed Ukrainian School No. 13. The creative atmosphere was complemented by a master class on T-shirt painting. Creative groups from both communities performed at the joint concert "Art of Unity."
The following days were devoted to exploring the Lviv region. The young travelers visited Ivan Franko's museum-estate in Nahuyevychi, learned about the ancient traditions of salt production in Drohobych, and went on an excursion to medieval Lviv. The children visited Rynok Square, the Opera House, and learned about the legends of the city of lions. The active part of their leisure time continued with tubing at Truskavets Land and improving their skiing skills at Bukovytsia.
The final day of the trip was spent in Truskavets, where children mastered the art of pottery at the "Kolo Gliny" art workshop, creating their own ceramic products. This trip gave the children of the Selidiv community not only new knowledge about the history and culture of Galicia, but also a necessary sense of security, support, and pride in their Ukrainian heritage. The Selidivska City Military Administration sincerely thanks the Boryslav City Council for the warm welcome and organization of an unforgettable vacation.
