#SideBySide
Last week, 24 displaced persons from Donetsk Oblast, who now live in Lviv Oblast, took part in an unforgettable rafting trip down the Western Bug River.
This event took place as part of the Side by Side: United Communities project, initiated by the Pokrovsk Humanitarian Hub “Yednannia.”
The head of the hub, Dmytro Shynkar, initiated this opportunity for his fellow countrymen so that they could spend an active and positive day enjoying nature and each other's company.
The main organizer of the event was the Kayak Tourism Center in Sokal, which provided all the necessary equipment for the rafting trip free of charge.
The transportation issue was resolved thanks to the support of the Sheptytsky territorial community, which provided a bus to transport the participants from Sheptytsky to Sokal.
Before the start of the rafting trip, Galina Vasylivna Kruk, a member of the Sheptytskyi City Council and an active promoter of tourism in the region, conducted a detailed briefing and explained the rules of conduct on the water, which ensured a high level of safety and organization of the event.
The 16-kilometer route gave participants many positive emotions, wonderful photographs of picturesque landscapes, and unforgettable impressions of active outdoor recreation.
This event was a vivid example of how joint community efforts promote the integration and support of displaced persons.
