For the second year in a row, an oblast competition-recitation "Poetic Donetsk" is being held in Donetsk region on the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. Its goal is to support language culture, develop aesthetic taste, and nurture love for the Ukrainian word among children and youth.

The organizer of the competition is traditionally the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children's and Youth Creativity.

During the competition period – from February 19 to May 23, 2025 – 150 participants from 23 territorial communities, regional out-of-school education institutions, and special schools joined in. All video clips were posted on the "Out-of-School Education of Donetsk" Facebook page with the hashtag #поетичнадонеччина2025.

Participants recited poetry by classics, contemporary authors, folk works, as well as their own poetic lines. The competition took place in the "Artistic Reading" nomination in three age categories.
