Today, on September 17, Dnipro hosted an event on "The Role of Civil Society in Community Development in Addressing Social Issues in the Pokrovskyi District" organized by the Pokrovskyi District State Administration in cooperation with the Dnipro League of Social Workers.
The event was held in a mixed format and brought together representatives of civil society, structural units of the Pokrovsk District State Administration and social sector specialists from the territorial communities of the Pokrovsk district.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish an open dialogue between the government and civil society to jointly identify the current needs of the relocated community, as well as to outline the role and potential of civil society in the restoration, integration and development of the community in the context of relocation.
The first deputy head of the Pokrovsk District State Administration of Donetsk Oblast, Oleksandr Fomenko, and the head of the board of the Dnipro League of Social Workers, Oksana Vereshko, delivered welcoming remarks.
They discussed the areas of activity of the Dnipro League of Social Workers, cooperation with communities in Dnipropetrovska and Donetsk oblasts, as well as the work of the hub and the development of social services. Particular attention was paid to the development of civil society, public involvement in the implementation of social issues by the NGO "Renaissance", the activities of the NGO "Pokrovska District Organization of Persons with Disabilities" and the project "Networking of CSOs in Donetsk Oblast".
During the discussions, the participants examined the challenges faced by communities after relocation, identified the main needs and available resources, and developed joint actions to improve communication and coordination.
The event has become an important platform for discussing social challenges and finding joint solutions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the authorities and the active public.
