As part of the "Culture Unites: Museums of Japan – Museums of Ukraine" program, the Pokrovsk Historical Museum received equipment for preserving its collections

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many Ukrainian museums have found themselves in the combat zone and faced the risk of losing their collections. Special materials and equipment are needed to safely transport and reliably store museum items, minimizing the risk of damage.

The Pokrovsk Historical Museum received such support as part of the grant program "Culture Unites: Museums of Japan – Museums of Ukraine," implemented by ICOM Ukraine with financial assistance from ICOM Japan and the Japan Museum Association.

As part of the grant, the museum received metal shelves, special boxes for storing and transporting museum items, and envelopes for paper exhibits.

"We are sincerely grateful to our colleagues from Japan and ICOM Ukraine for their support. For a museum operating in conditions of constant danger, such materials are not just equipment, but a real opportunity to preserve our cultural heritage for future generations," said museum director Angelina Rozhkova.
