With the assistance of the international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps, in cooperation with the NGO "Eastern Ukrainian Agricultural Advisory Service," the implementation of the Ukraine Agricultural Support Program continues in the Donetsk region.
The program aims to restore and preserve livelihoods, increase economic stability and self-sufficiency, and promote the restoration of agricultural activities of small and medium-sized agribusiness households in target regions of Ukraine.
✅ Results of the program in Donetsk region to date:
🔹 Households and small farmers – 201.
🔹 Small agribusinesses – 8.
🔹 Medium-sized agribusinesses – 3.
The program is being implemented in the following regions: Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Odesa.
Program duration: 36 months (November 1, 2023 - October 31, 2026).
Target audience: internally displaced persons, relocated businesses, local households, and farmers affected by the war.

Participants in the program are selected on a competitive basis.
Preference is given to households, farmers, and businesses that:
🔸 have been most affected by the consequences of the war (lost machinery, equipment, premises, livestock);
🔸 do not have the resources to recover on their own;
🔸 are socially or financially vulnerable.

I. Households engaged in agricultural activities and small farmers
The average grant amount is US$3,000.
Category: households and small farmers cultivating plots of up to 10 hectares.
Sectors involved: beekeeping, cattle, pig and poultry breeding, vegetable growing.
II. Small agribusinesses
Average grant amount – US$75,000.
Category: critical for farmers and households, as they provide services or agricultural resources and create market opportunities.
They have land plots of up to 500 hectares under cultivation.
They are ready to invest up to 50% of their own funds in resuming operations.
Sectors of involvement: crop production.
III. Medium-sized agribusinesses
The average grant amount is US$150,000.
Category: critical for farmers, households, and the local community (socially oriented and critical for the local economy).
Land plots under cultivation ranging from 500 to 3,000 hectares.
Willing to invest up to 50% of their own funds in resuming operations.
Sectors of involvement: crop production.
IV. Support for institutions (entities) providing services to the agricultural sector.
Average grant amount – US$150,000.
Category: entities providing veterinary services and artificial insemination services for farm animals, agricultural advisory services, agricultural educational institutions that provide services to farmers, food quality and safety laboratories, and other similar institutions.
Sectors of involvement: veterinary medicine, soil science, potato farming.
V. Consulting services on legal and financial issues
Category: farmers who need qualified assistance in resolving legal and financial issues. Issues may relate to land taxes, credit obligations, and government benefits for farmers affected by the consequences of full-scale war.
VI. Support for women farmers
Comprehensive training for 1,200 women farmers
Category: women who head households or active agribusinesses with experience in agriculture.
